Three-Minute Fiction

Yes, I am one of those nerds who sometimes takes herself too seriously to listen to anything but National Public Radio. But I happened to tune into this the other day when I was getting into my car, and it seemed rather fateful, or a spout of good luck: it was  piece on NPR’s 8th round of its Three Minute Fiction contest. The deadline for this round is March 25th (that’s ten days from today!) The prompt is: “She closed the book, placed it on the table, and finally, decided to to walk through the door.”

For details, rules, or to listen to a recording of the piece, check out the link below to the webpage on the NPR site!

This is another one of those great opportunities to pad your writing resume bit by bit, and at no cost to you (aside perhaps from the internet access if you don’t get it “free” on-campus).
